Efectos de las cargas térmicas variables en los Sistemas de Barrera Térmica

Resumen

Los sistemas de barrera térmica (TBC) han sido una solución para incrementar las temperaturas de operación de máquinas térmicas como turbinas para generación eléctrica, motores de combustión interna y demás aplicaciones de alta solicitación. Las características de las cargas térmicas a las que son sometidos los sistemas TBC determinan factores claves como el crecimiento de óxidos y la propagación de grietas. El presente estudio propone el diseño y construcción de un prototipo que permite desarrollar experimentos que simulan las cargas térmicas variables en condiciones reales de operación, dando la posibilidad de medir las temperaturas de la capa protectora cerámica y el sustrato durante la prueba. Adicionalmente, es posible recrear el gradiente térmico entre dichos componentes. Finalmente, empleando análisis y procesamiento digital de imágenes se observa el crecimiento de óxidos y comportamiento de grietas para una probeta sometida a 64 ciclos térmicos.
